What is the lunch program at PVS? Does my child need to bring a snack?
All students need to bring a snack for the day. If your family needs support with snacks, please contact our school counselor, Sean O'Leary at [email protected]
Students are welcome to bring a lunch from home, if they choose.
PVS is able to proved free lunch for all students regardless of their previous free lunch eligibility. Sack lunches will be offered in September. Please see the link here for very important details about how to receive a free lunch.
What supplies does my child need for class?
PVS provides all classroom supplies for each student. We do request a Materials & Activities donation every year to cover the cost of supplies, materials, and experiences that every student receives, regardless of their ability to pay. Every dollar counts, so we ask that each family donate what feels comfortable to them up to the requested amount of $195 per student per year. Families may feel they are able to cover the cost of another child, and we welcome that donation as well.
Thank you for supporting our enriching Waldorf curriculum for all students!
More information about our Materials & Activities donation request and how to pay it is here:
What is your drop-off / pick-up process?
Please view this video for an explanation of our morning and afternoon drop-off and pick-up process.
There are directions for both walk-up drop-off/pick-up procedures as well as vehicle drop-off/pick-up.
Please remember, if you are dropping off a Kindergartner or 4th-8th grader by vehicle, you will use the Farragut lot one block north of the school. If you are dropping off a 1st-3rd grader, you will use the middle playground lot. If you have more than one student in your vehicle, please be sure to use the lot assigned to the youngest student in your car.
Please view the video for important details about the drop-of/pick-up process - and thank you for your patience!
Can my student meet me outside of school after the school day is over?
If your child is 3rd grade or older, they can self sign-out with parent permission. You must fill out a self sign-out permission slip which can be found at our Front Office in the Lower School. Once the permission slip is received, your child can leave their classroom by themselves at the end of the day.
Parents of students Kindergarten through 2nd grade, or students without self sign-out forms, must provide a student code when picking up their child at the end of the day. Student codes are provided by the Front Office. All parents must use the correct parking lot or walk-up pick-up point.
Please see the above question about the pick-up process!
What if my child is tardy?
If your child arrives after 8:30am, they must check in at the Front Office in the Lower School entry way. They will get their temperature taken and the Front Office will note that they are present for the day. Your student will then go to their classroom.
