Materials and Activities Fee
At the beginning of each school year, PVS requests a Materials and Activity Fee donation for each enrolled student to help cover the costs of school supplies and activities. The materials at PVS are customized to support the curriculum at each grade level and include high-quality beeswax, colored pencils, crayons, fountain pens, main lesson books, painting paper, wool, yarn, and more. Currently, PVS orders and distributes these materials, relieving each family the burden of shopping for these supplies each fall. PVS also provides students many unique learning experiences that are connected to the curriculum in deep and tangible ways, but require significant funds. Our yearly field trip budget is $35,000 and our supplies and materials line item is $45,000. If each family pays $195 per student, we can cover all materials and activity costs for the school year and ensure that our children continue to receive the enriched education we've come to expect at Portland Village School.
