Materials / Activities Fee
Materials and Activities Fee
Portland Village School is a tuition-free public charter school. At the beginning of each school year we request that families pay a Materials and Activity Fee to help support funding for the years school supplies and learning experiences. The materials we use at PVS are high quality and customized to support the curriculum at each grade level. These materials include high-quality beeswax, colored pencils, crayons, fountain pens, main lesson books, painting paper, wool, yarn, and more. PVS also provides students many unique learning activities and experiences that are connected to the curriculum in deep and tangible ways. These rich materials and nourishing educational activities are key to a Waldorf education and they require significant funding. As a public charter school we receive only 80% of the funding of a traditional Portland Public School. Fundraising is an integral part of helping our school continue to offer the enriching Waldorf programs we cherish.
We ask that each family pay $195 annually per student to help cover the materials and activity costs for the school year. Please pay what you are able. Every dollar counts! Regardless of financial contribution, each and every child at Portland Village School is offered the same unique experience.
