Bio

I graduated from the University of Kansas in 1997 with a degree in French. After teaching at a French immersion school in Portland, I received a Master's of Education from PSU in 2005. With children of my own to consider education for, I became very interested in Waldorf philosophy. I was pleased to discover Portland Village School as an alternative to the public model, in the heart of my favorite city! I have participated in annual Waldorf summer trainings and have taught grades 5, 3, 4, 1, and now 2 at PVS since 2014. I really appreciate the developmentally appropriate and art-inspired curriculum that is Waldorf. I honor the benefits and growth of looping with the same group, and appreciate the meaningful investment in a community of students and families. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy being a mother to three daughters, hiking in nature, felting, and singing in a local band.
