Village Extended Care
The Village Extended Care is excited to be offering Waldorf-based childcare for Portland Village School.
We have professional staff, who are current on all State required training, Waldorf-focused training, and who are passionate about providing a safe and educational environment for each student.
We place a strong value on being a helpful part of this community and offer before care, after care, and affordable drop-in services on request. The Village Extended Care provides childcare on most non-school days with flexible hours throughout the year. We also are registered with DHS to accept State-funded childcare.
Each student is sure to have a good time exploring our daily themes through games, activities, and lots of hands-on social-emotional learning.
Village Extended Care is open to serve students at Portland Village School on all school days before and after school hours. Village Extended Care is also open on school closure days (conferences, PD Days, breaks, etc), excluding federal holidays. Winter, spring break, and summer camps are all open to the greater Portland community. All our programming is designed in conjunction with Waldorf teaching methods and activities.
Village Extended Care hours:
School days: 7-8:15am, 3:15-6:00pm (2:15-6:00pm on Wednesday early release)
No-school days: 8:00am-3:15pm (3:15pm-6:00pm aftercare is offered depending on interest)
Village Extended Care will be closed on the following federal holidays:
MLK Day
Memorial Day
Juneteenth
4th of July
Indigenous People's Day
Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday)
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
New Years Day
