I currently live in Hillsboro, but am originally from North Carolina. I have also lived in Portugal and Mexico. I have a Bachelor's degree in Spanish from Portland State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Concordia University. Before coming to Portland Village School, I taught kindergarten, English as a second language, and Spanish literacy. I like that Portland Village School inspires students to learn through creativity and to take ownership of their own learning. I enjoy inspiring students to become lifelong learners. I have one daughter and one guinea pig. My favorite activities include learning to play guitar and ukulele, helping my daughter with science projects, bike riding, playing volleyball, reading, and gardening.
