I grew up in Olympia, WA and spent quality time climbing trees and digging for clams. I was raised by teacher parents and they inspired me to become an educator. I have been a teacher for many years, as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Africa, teaching high school art and costuming in a New York City public school and as a Handwork teacher at PVS. I received a Master’s degree in Art Education from the School of Visual Arts and I have a Waldorf certification from Antioch University. I appreciate the transformative power of the arts and emotional wellness gained from self expression. When not teaching or crafting I enjoy spending time with my family and running through Portland parks.
