My name is Claire Garrott. I’m from the West Coast: I’ve lived in a suburb of LA, Seattle and it’s suburbs, and Portland. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Education from University of Portland (Go Pilots!). I was a substitute teacher for the Seattle Archdiocese for half of a year, and then taught 5th-6th grade Social Studies and 5th-8th grade Language Arts at St. Paul Parochial School in Seattle for 2.5 years. Since coming back to Portland 3 years ago I have taught at Portland Village School, with the exception of a maternity leave and break from teaching after the birth of my son. This will be my 4th year at PVS, and my 7th year teaching either 6th or 7th grade. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy being at home with my husband and son, visiting family, baking, and going to seasonal festivals.
