Although our school is tuition-free, donations are vital and allow PVS to continue to provide an educational program enriched with music, community-building festivals, and specialty subjects such as Handwork, Games, Movement and Spanish. While we ask for the Materials and Activities Fee at the beginning of the year to cover our high quality materials and learning experiences there is a still a short fall to cover the enriched programs Portland Village School offers. Your donations make it all possible!
As a public charter school, PVS receives 80% of the funds of a typical Portland Public School, amounting to an average of $1,500 less per student per year that we need to make up through fundraising efforts. Through fundraising events like the Annual Fun Run or Spring Auction we can raise significant funds but our largest contribution comes from our direct giving campaigns. Our fundraising appeals are an important way we help fill the financial gap and ensure the unique PVS experience.
This year our financial goal for our Annual Appeal is $35,000. To reach this goal we're challenging our community members to max out employer matching donations, appeal to friends, petition grandparents, and talk to business contacts. We ask for 100% community participation and any donation contributed in your family's name counts towards that goal. We know some families may be in a position to give more than others, so we ask that you give what you can to help us meet our shortfall. While a suggested contribution of $120 per student gets us quickly to our goal we are grateful to accept donations from $5 to $5000 in one lump payment or smaller monthly installments.
Please complete the Annual Appeal form below today and return to the school office to make your monthly or one-time donation, or make your payment online via PayPal.
