Thank you for your interest in working for Portland Village School, a public charter K-8 school inspired by Waldorf education. It is our goal to serves a diverse population that might not otherwise have access to a Waldorf-inspired curriculum. Approximately 36% of our 353 students are eligible for free/reduced cost lunch.
There could be a need for the positions listed below. In addition, there are many ways in which our school could use the help of volunteers.

Grades Teachers 2012/13 School Year
Compenstation starts at $30,500 as per the salary sacale. Portland Village School also offers a benefits package that includes vision, dental and medical insurance, as well as an employer contribution to the Portland Educators' Retirement Program after 600 hours of work.

Substitute Teacher
PVS is building a list of substitute teachers. To qualify as a substitute you must be either state certified or registered with the Oregon Department of Education's Charter School Registry and have some teaching experience in grades K-6. Please include "Substitute Teacher Candidate" in the email subject line. 2010-11 rate: $16 per hour; $128 per day.
Substitute Administrator
To qualify as a substitute administrator, you must have public school administrative experience, preferably with elementary school experience. Please include "Substitute Administrator" in the email subject line. 2010-11 rate: $22 per hour; $176 per day.
Knowledge of Waldorf pedagogy is a plus.
