Christine Hinrichs

2nd Grade Teacher

Christine Hinrichs received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Portland State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis & Clark College.  She holds an Oregon State Teaching License with an Endorsement in teaching English as a Second Language.   A resident of the Portland Metropolitan area since she was eleven years old, Ms. Hinrichs enjoys the symphony, camping, theatre, hiking, opera and canoeing, as well as spending time with her nephews and godchildren.  A classically trained vocalist, Ms. Hinrichs has performed at various venues in the Northwest and has served on the Board of the Community Music Center in Southeast Portland.  She is also an avid reader, with recent books including: Sarah’s Key, The Singing Creek Where the Willows Grow, and Between Heaven & Earth-A Guide to Chinese Medicine.   Prior to her teaching career, Ms. Hinrichs was a Director at the Portland Children’s Museum, where she oversaw the organizations’ finances, administration, and visitor services, and volunteered with the children in the museum’s Opal Charter School.
