Orchid Jones and Emily Pitti became friends after a mutual friend introduced them during the Summer of 2007. After working together at a private Montessori school in NE Portland, they recognized a shared vision: To serve children in a learning environment which focuses on outdoor education, peace skills, art-infused activities, as well as developing a respect for human and non-human communities alike. Together they co-conceived and manifested a summer program in 2009 called Camp Vida with this vision in mind, serving elementary children between the ages of 5-12. Orchid Jones and Emily Pitti love working together balancing their creative insight as well as hard work, and are excited about the opportunity to lead Portland Village School's After Care Program. Currently the two are developing Cedar Sisters Continuing Education and will be offering an array of afternoon classes, for an additional fee, that families can register their children for, such as: Organic Gardening, Worm Composting, Tincture Making, Printmaking, Nature Walks (discovering native plants in your neighborhood), Peace Skills, and much more!
