Portland Village Parent Association
Portland Village Parent Association (PVPA) keeps our community connected. It works with the administration, faculty and various committees to help coordinate school related events. PVPA meetings provide an opportunity to find out what's going on in the school, offer your voice, meet other parents/guardians from our school and learn from the education piece geared towards parents/guardians in our community.
PVPA hopes to have two Reps (representatives) and a Room Parent from each class. Additional Reps and Room Parents are still needed. If you are a new family, the PVPA is a fantastic way to get to know your community and the happenings around the school. If you are interested please contact the PVPA chair, Christian Nelson.
Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:30 pm. They are open to everyone and take place in the all-school space in the upper grades building basement. An adult education portion is offered 6:30-7:30 and other information and business is addressed between 7:35-8:30.
Child care is available for $5 per child for the evening. Minimum age is 3 years old. If you are in need of childcare, please let us know at least one week in advance by emailing Christian.

PVPA Reps and Room Parents
PVPA Representatives keep their class updated and aware of what is happening within our community. Some of the functions of a representative include: attending monthly PVPA meetings, updating their respective classes after class meetings, recruiting volunteers, and working within the various PVPA committees.
Room Parents serve to support the work of the teacher. Some of their functions include helping with class trips, socials, fundraisers, the auction project and volunteer recruitment.
PVPA Representatives and Room Parents are positive, open minded and understanding in their interactions with other families and willing to help each family find their own way to best support the school.
Please consider volunteering.
